"1041st SECURITY POLICE SQUADRON (T)"
Lineage - Honors - History

What started out as a inquiry about when the 1041st SPS (T) patch was established, ended up with some interesting facts.

John W Brokaw, PhD., Historian, Air Force Security Police Association, was gracious enough to offer his services in our quest.

The 1041st SPS (T) does not have a Lineage and Honors folder, or an emblem folder, so I created an L&H from the unit record card. Here it is: 4470th Combat Security Police Squadron

The 1041st USAF Security Strike Force Test Squadron is organized on 1 Jul 1966 at Phan Rang AB, Vietnam, and is assigned to HQC, HQCOMD USAF; redesignated 1041st USAF Security Police Squadron (T) on 30 Sep 1966; released from assignment to HQC, and assigned to Tactical Air Command (TAC); redesignated 4470th Combat Security Police Squadron on 20 Jan 1968; Discontinued effective 8 Mar 1968.

Two things I didn't know; one, the cap flash was unofficial and, two, the unit was redesignated the 4470th CSPS after it came home.
